Ethique – good for you good for our environment
Recently I did a shoot For Brianne West, founder of her own company Ethique. Dedicated to bringing us good quality, natural products; for face and body (also some tasty treats), and a company that is carbon neutral and environmentally aware right down to their biodegradable products and packaging. Brianne is a University Student studying chemistry and biology who decided to start her own ‘safe’ skin care range and have fun with it too!
I caught up with her as she was about to launch on her website her new mineral foundation. Hence the reason for the shoot
I am a great fan of mineral foundation so it was great to see her range, I had been buying mine from the states, so it’s good to see some more out there and thats a reasonable price too!

She also has a range of blush and eye shadows as well as foundation.

We also photographed some of her soaps, I loved photographing the cupcake soaps they are adorable and this kind of photography excites me a little as I get to play round with backdrops and lighting.

And She also has hand made fudges in TUBs! Instantly saw myself siting on the couch with one of my photography magazines, a blanket over the toes and a TUB of fudge and a nice sturdy teaspoon mmmm.

If your interested in learning more about Ethique and their products I suggest you check out http:www.ethique.com
School Formal Photography
Ball season In Christchurch is in full swing, and it’s a lovely time of the year to do formal photos, the dress bought for just one night can have a life time of memories which is why I have decided to record this ‘coming of age’ event.
Photos can be done before the school formal or even after, they can be done alone or in a group of friends, or with ball partner, as I have done with Nikita and Brett in the photos below.
Our session itself was quite quick, we got a lot of lovely photos and had a lot of fun, and they make a great record of a wonderful time in a young students life, and wonderful shots for Parents of their child all dressed up for this occasion.

Kittens!
My kids got a couple of kittens on the last day of school before the holidays. These are their first pets really, so they were pretty excited to see these guys when they got home.
Abigale, the youngest probably loves them a little too much and the poor wee fellows didn’t get much down time over the easter break, She is bearing a few scratches and learning to be more gentle.
But the wee kitty’s they just love her, and cuddle up with her too, I think they know she’s loves them, and that she’s little too
Nico
I love the chance to photograph a new born baby in the first days, they are so relaxed and sleepy, and photographing them is such a joy!!!
I was lucky enough to get invited to see Nico in the hospital when he was born.
At just about 12 hours old, we put him on the hospital bed, the light was coming in through the window beautifully, he lay there all sleepy from his big arrival, and gave me the
chance to capture this beautiful moment.
thank-you Nico
kids
I love this way of processing photos, especially when the light is right.
We were out for diner, for birthday tea in fact, Japanese was the choice which is birthday girls favourite as she was born in Okinawa and has only been away a year. Maido was our choice and what wonderful food and service we got!
The kids couldn’t resist but step out and look at the view, and I of course couldn’t resist but follow them with camera in hand
